mw dev jaeger

Using this will automatically configure a jaeger service for MediaWiki.

This relies on code in MediaWiki that is a work in progress. See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T340552 and https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/1027519 for more information.

When running, this will define:

$wgOpenTelemetryConfig = [
    'samplingProbability' => 100, # a percentage despite the name
    'serviceName' => 'mediawiki',
    'endpoint' => 'http://jaeger:4318/v1/traces',
];

Commands

• mw dev jaeger create — Create the containers
• mw dev jaeger destroy — Destroy the containers
• mw dev jaeger exec — Execute a command in the main container
• mw dev jaeger image — Interact with the image used for the service
• mw dev jaeger rebuild — Build images and recreate the containers
• mw dev jaeger start — Start the containers
• mw dev jaeger stop — Stop the containers

Global options

-c, --context <string>

Development context to use (overrides CONTEXT) Default: default.

--help

Help for this command

--no-interaction

Do not ask any interactive questions

-v, --verbose <count>

Increase output verbosity. Example: --verbose=2 or -vv
